Healing starts with nourishment

Launching in early 2026, Surgical Friends Foundation will partner with hospitals to provide Recovery Grocery Boxes for underserved children after surgery — ensuring they return home to fresh, whole foods instead of processed meals.

Our mission

At Surgical Friends Foundation, we believe every child deserves the chance to heal fully. For underserved children recovering from surgery, access to nutritious, whole foods is often limited. Beginning in Q1 2026, our mission is to fill that gap by providing Recovery Grocery Boxes packed with fresh vegetables, fruits, proteins, and wholesome staples — so children can recover with strength and dignity.

Why It Matters

Leaving the hospital is only the first step. For families already facing financial or social challenges, preparing balanced meals after a child’s surgery can feel overwhelming. Too often, children return home to ultra-processed, nutrient-poor foods that delay healing.

Nutrition plays a vital role in recovery: it reduces complications, supports wound healing, and restores energy. By delivering Recovery Grocery Boxes filled with whole foods, we take one burden off families’ shoulders — ensuring children receive the nourishment they need when it matters most.

Our Story

Surgical Friends Foundation was founded in 2010 by surgeon Dr. Kami Parsa to provide reconstructive surgery for underserved patients around the world. After pausing international operations during the pandemic, we are re-imagining our mission closer to home: helping children heal through nourishment.

Our long-term vision remains global — bringing healing across borders — but today, our focus is clear and immediate: underserved children in Los Angeles, healing through whole foods.
